Written by J.S. Newman

The following pages contain the substance of articles written by Elder J. S. Newman. of Glenrose, Texas, and published from time to time in the BAPTIST TRUMPET. The author did not at the time expect to have them published in pamphlet form, but being solicited by brethren in different States to have them so published that they might be preserved, finally consented. This pamphlet contains much valuable information and we trust will be a blessing to our people. Elder Newman is well known to our people as a sound, able minister and vigorous writer, and while we do not claim perfection for the matter contained in this little book, yet we feel safe in recommending a careful perusal of its pages. We pray the blessings of God to attend it and to spare the author long to His people that he may comfort them with the things wherewith he himself has been comforted.
