Squaw Creek Primitive Baptist Church

Doss, Texas

The Squaw Creek Primitive Baptist Church is located in the community of Doss, Texas – just 9 miles north of Fredericksburg on Hwy 87, then 7 miles west on FM 648.  The Church grounds are on several acres in beautiful south Texas.  There is plenty of room for campers and/or RV’s when the Squaw Creek Church hosts special meetings.



The Squaw Creek Primitive Baptist Church was constituted on the Saturday before the third Sunday in September 1901 (9/22/01).  The service was held at the Squaw Creek School and Community Building.  By request, the Valley Springs Primitive Baptist Church sent their ordained help.  Elder S. N. Redford acted as moderator, and Bro. S.S. Redford acted as clerk.  The original charter members, who all received letters of good standing from Valley Springs Church were:

The Squaw Creek Primitive Baptist Church hosts services every 1st and 3rd Sunday.  Song service begins at 10:30am CST and preaching is at 11:00am CST.

The Squaw Creek Primitive Baptist Church shares in the rotation of the Annual “Camp Meeting” with the Churches at Stratton (Pilgrim’s Rest) and McMahan (Bethel).  The Camp Meeting will next be held at Doss in 2010.




Traveling Directions:


The easiest way to get to the Squaw Creek Church, is to take highway 87 north of Fredericksburg, then turn west on Farm Road 648 and proceed 7 files.
