Beloved Brethren and Friends: --While fanned this lovely evening by the pure breeze of heaven and cheered by the green grass and little flowers, yet there is within my soul a peculiar sadness, because so far from the true people of Christ. How it would gladden my heart to see and engage with you in the worship of our God! A few times on the way here since my arrival when much stirred to do so, I have tried to engage in public worship, which sometimes I have been lately deprived of the joys of public worship. Spiritually, I seem almost as if excluded from my beloved brethren, whose association I feel so unworthy to enjoy. Pride, indifference and perversion of truth, chiefly characterize the formal worship of this country. I have enquired here for Old School Baptists, but have found none. If anyone knows the location of brethren in Beaver county or Western Kans., please inform me. I long to see and mingle with the humble, truth-loving people of God. Brethren, though far away, my heart is with you and I want to commend you for your willingness to turn away from the many orders or institutions of the world, secret or otherwise. May you continue ever true to our Divine Husband and Saviour, forsaking all others--give up all for Jesus. The Lord makes us always prompt and loyal in the service of Him who "hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for US." Your unworthy brother in bonds of affliction and much love. Tyrone, Okla. M.D. DENMAN.
