Written by Moses Denman

While in every place the brethren have been so kind and courteous in their homes and in the house of God, and that too toward one so unworthy of their fatherly and motherly care; yet truly, "There is no place like home."

On my arrival here I found my parents and friends, well, and enjoyed complete rest and sweet converse with the loved ones at home. Here freed from wayworn toil and care, it now appears I did not realize that I was so tired and in need of rest. And so, beloved brethren and sisters, while in this world amid toils and dangers, temptations and corruptions, we are not able to know how wretched it is to be attended by corruptions and kept back from our blessed heavenly home. While we have been made free from the dominion of sin, yet we are comparatively wretched because of our remaining imperfections. We feel to cry with the apostle, "O! wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this? I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord." Yes, through Jesus Christ complete deliverance from all corruption will come, when we shall be raised incorruptible to dwell with our Saviour at home.

Oh, may we now be blessed to duly appreciate all blessings as the purchase of Christ's resolute toil and suffering. Especially may we be enabled to rejoice and to appreciate more and more our promised, complete and heavenly rest at home.

Yours in bonds of love,

Sparta, Tex.         M.D. DENMAN
