Dear Brethren and Friends: --By the peculiar providence of God, and without my purpose, I have come to Bowie, and am now with my parents at the home of my mother. How obscure and wonderful are the workings of Providence. May the Lord God who rules in heaven and earth guide and shield us in the right way; for I feel that I "know not what to do." Ah, what unutterable conflicts of soul. Sometimes I fear it is presumption for such an unfit and unworthy one to worship God at any time or place, especially away from home. Oh Lord, give me strength to serve thee.
"In all my Lord's appointed ways My journey I'll pursue, Hinder me not ye much loved saints, For I must go with you." Dear brethren and sisters, will you pray for me? Oh, pray that the Lord may lead me to do His will, and always be patient and resigned for Jesus' sake. Dear brethren, my heart now goes out in special love for those in the church, which I often desire to express to you. Not only so, but there are many with a hope in Christ lingering outside the church, whom we love because they bear the image of Jesus. And since there are unbrought ones whom God loves when dead in sins, we feel concerned for all persons. How precious and comforting is the love of God in our souls! It extends and increases our love for our fellow-beings, and all nature seems filled with God's glory. We then feel to say with David, "Let every thing that hath breath praise the Lord." "Praise ye Him sun and moon; praise Him all ye stars of light. Let them praise the name of the Lord; for He commanded and they were created."--Psa, cxlviii. 3. Oh, may our Lord ever lead us to let brotherly love continue by being honest, virtuous and truthful in heart and life. Dear brethren and sisters, "as ye have received Christ Jesus, our Lord, so walk ye in Him." When we received Him, we loved everybody, we did not desire to speak of the faults of others, nor to engage in vain and frivolous things. Then let Us humbly walk as we received Christ Jesus. Oh, in view of our suffering Lord, let us avoid debates and deceit. "The servant of the Lord must not strive but be gentle unto all men." Tim. i. 24. Let us look upon our weeping Redeemer, and avoid jesting and worldly minded conduct. O let us obey Jesus and abstain from all appearance of evil. Finally, since Christ's great love induced Him to die for our sins, oh, may His wonderful love constrain us to love and live for Him. "Let thru mind be in you, was also in Christ Jesus." Bowie, Tex. M.D. DENMAN.
