Beloved Brethren and Friends: --I feel like I must tell you something about the last meeting at our home church. The good Lord has blessed Cedar Grove church in the past and continues to bless her with peace, Sometimes our peace has been threatened, but as often one or both persons concerned, from love to Jesus, have humbly confessed their wrongs and shown love and forgiveness. In this way, peace and good will have been preserved, and our meetings have been pleasant, praise the Lord. On our last meeting Bro, Norman was greatly blessed of the Lord in preaching the gospel, especially on Saturday and Saturday night. And the humbling power and holy influence of the divine presence was felt in our hearts. On Saturday, Bro. Joe Herbert and his sister, Alice, joined the church by experience. I felt to pray God that satan might not hinder them from baptism because of the cold; and on Lord's Day morning they were buried with Christ beneath the yielding wave, "to rise to walk in newness of life." Oh, may God be with them and with all that love Him to enable us all to thus "Follow His steps" in everything. Let us keep near the cross and in all things follow the example of Jesus. Holy and beloved, let us never encourage a thought, speak a word, nor do an act, which would be unlike our dear Redeemer. Let us all try to be more like Jesus. "Because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example that ye should follow His steps."--I Pet. ii. 21. Oh: for grace to follow Him, "Who, when He was reviled, reviled not again." And oh, my dear young friends, who may chance to read these imperfect lines, may God put His fear within you. May you be divinely led to seek and so find Him, of whom Moses and the prophets did write, Jesus of Nazareth, the sinners’ friend. Now, beloved brethren, pray for us and visit us, May “the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all, so you shall "Be not conformed to this world," but that in all things you may follow Him. Your unworthy brother in hope of eternal life, through the cleansing blood and imputed obedience of Jesus, Sparta, Tex. M.D. DENMAN.
