Beloved Brethren and Friends:--While desiring to attend the Panhandle-Oklahoma Association, I was tempted to decline as the six months was nearly past in which to build my homestead. However, August 4th found me in route for the meeting in Cottle county, Texas. Was water bound by the Beaver the first day. On my way, being deeply impressed to speak to the people near Frezno, Collinsworth County, and meeting encouragement, arrangement was made for worship on my return. Next day found Red River impassable, but proceeded up the river that night and reached Newlin in time to go by train to Childress and so arrived at the place of meeting in due time.

It was well attended from various parts, coming from a hundred to six hundred miles. I cannot express my joy on meeting the dear people of God. Some of these brethren I have known for years, and have stood with them against the perils of arminianism, Spiritual Two-seedism or Fatalism, and now find they have been kept by the power of God sound in the doctrine and practice, filled my soul with thankfulness to Him who has promised, "I will never leave thee nor forsake thee." The humbling presence and grace of. the Holy Spirit was abundantly bestowed especially on Saturday. Six joined by experience, four of whom were baptized by our dear Eld. D. W. Russell. A hallowed influence was felt in the hearts of the people. Finally we took the parting hand, Perhaps to meet no more 'till we meet in the fullness of bliss and love around the throne of God.

Hearing the train would not stop at small towns some said I could not reach the place arranged for meeting on Monday night, but felt it my duty to try. So being conveyed half way to Childers Sunday evening I proceeded afoot. The train was reached by 3 a. m. next morning. I soon quit the train at Estaline, found my horse all right, and met the people at Frezno in due time for worship. A goodly number at that place are spiritual-minded and manifested much interest. Those present arranged for worship Tuesday night also. Next day Brother W. H. Forbis, who desires baptism, was active, norating (???) the meeting for Tuesday night, and desires our ministers to come and preach in his neighborhood.

Through God's mercy I arrived home safely to find all well. Though absent 16 days, yet began to occupy my house August 22, four days before my six months limit expired. And now while writing, the gentle rain is falling to mature the feed-crop for my horse. Truly such earthly blessings are cause of much thankfulness to God who "Openeth His hand and feedeth every living thing," yet the spiritual blessings we receive are of far greater value than these carnal things. Therefore amid our earthly cares, brethren, let us not neglect our spiritual duties to God; but let us willingly forsake all to obey our Lord who has died for us.

If the Lord will, I expect with my aged mother to attend the Elk Creek meeting in Day county on the first Sunday it September.

Yours in tribulations and bonds of love, Tyrone, Okla.         M.D. DENMAN.
