Written by Moses Denman

My Dear Brethren and Friends :--Thus far a door of utterance has been opened unto me as I trust of the Lord. I feel most unworthy and humbly thankful to Him who doeth all things well.

Under the providence of God, at Ft. Sill, it was my lot to speak to the Indians of Jesus "the Way." The deportment of these Comanches greatly excelled what I expected. Of the 120 Indians present, not one moved from his or her seat during the one hour's service. Neither was any whispering or talking; but all gave good attention. Let us try to behave as well. I commended them with their parents and teachers and praised the Lord. Let us reflect that Pocahontas took the risk of dying for her friend; but Jesus certainly died for his enemies. And as some out of every people and nation were redeemed by the blood of Jesus, some of these Comanches are saved by grace through the obedience of Jesus Christ. Praise the Lord! Salvation is a free gift to the vilest sinners, through the blood of Jesus. M.D. DENMAN.
