The Eternal Union philosophy known as Two-seedism, claims that the elect had an eternal spiritual existence in, and union with Christ before time, and so are akin to God; and that therefore they are a part of God and have come out from Him. My brethren and sisters, while we love the brethren so far as they are like Jesus in doctrine and practice, let us beware of such unscriptural and presumptive claim as the above. Let us be so humble as to remember that we are not a part of God. No, no, we are only very humble human beings of God's creation, the created beings or "offsprings" of His workmanship; less than nothing and vanity. God's choice of us was before time or eternal, but we are not eternal. For God who "inhabiteth eternity has Created us here in the world and hath given us of His Spirit constraining us to obedience. Then are we the children of God, not that we are a Part of God, but we are the children of God and of Christ, because we were given to Christ by covenant before we had any being, even before the world began. We are the children of God because we are born again, or made like Christ by the Spirit's renewing work in our hearts. So some men, even all penitent believers, are children of God, because they have been made like God in disposition; and other men though of the same stock or made of "One blood," are children of the Devil, because they are like the Devil in disposition. Oh, children of God, let us tenderly love one another, but from loyal love to Christ let us never follow men into error that would be to love men more than we love Christ. But let us in meekness endeavor to "keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace." Let us try to save those in error from Two-seedism, from Arminianism, from Trytheism, from Unitarianism, and from all other unscriptural doctrines. Beloved brethren, let us obey our Lord's command to "Beware of philosophy." Let us from love to God and His people take heed to this command to beware, lest through the deceitfulness of sin, we be given over to unsound doctrine and hardness of heart and a want of brotherly love. Your unworthy brother in much love, Quanah, Tex. M.D. DENMAN.
